Congratulations to Professor Donglin Jiang who has been elected as a fellow of the prestigious European Academy of Sciences (EurASc).
A NUS professor of chemistry, Jiang holds provost’s chair in Chemistry department. Jiang received his Ph.D. in chemistry from The University of Tokyo. After carrying out postdoctoral research, he joined The University of Tokyo in 1998 as an assistant professor. After being a group leader in an ERATO project, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), associate professor at Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), National Institutes of Natural Sciences (NINS), and full professor at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, he joined NUS in 2018.
Jiang has received prestigious awards including Alexander von Humboldt Research Award, The world’s most highly cited researcher in the field of Chemistry by Clarivate Analytics (2018-2021), The 34th Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work, The Young Scientists’ Prize, The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, and The Science Award, the Society of Polymer Science, Japan (SPSJ) for Creative Work, for his work on organic/polymeric materials, including establishing design principles for 2D polymers and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and their synthetic routes.
