ChemNUS Demo Interest Group

The ChemNUS Demo Interest Group was established in the Department in August 2021. The objective is to provide a platform for mentors and students who are passionate in chemistry demonstrations to discuss, experiment, and share their ideas together. A lab space and some resources are provided to cultivate the Demo Interest Group, and NUS Chemistry undergraduates are welcome to join the group. Some of the ChemNUS Demo Interest Group works are:

1. Magnetic Susceptibility Study of Heteroleptic Nickel (II) Complexes Ni(Et2en)2X2The Ni(Et2en)2I2 and Ni(Et2en)2SCN crystals (below) were synthesized with ~90% yield and the crystals magnetic susceptibility were also measured.
