Chemistry Teacher Workshop (30 May 2023)
1. Information
The Chemistry Teacher Workshop is fully funded by the Ang Kok Peng Memorial Fund. There are 2 independent activities from which teachers are free to choose. These activities are:
- Teaching workshop — facilitator: Associate Professor Adrian Lee
In this workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to discuss teaching and learning in chemistry education, in particular on the use of technologies and what we learnt during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Practical workshop — facilitator: Dr Edith Chan
In this workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to try out some hands-on chemical experiments that can be incorporated into teaching chemistry in schools .
2.Participant criteria
- MOE Teachers (including IP schools)

Each school can register a maximum of 2 teachers for each activity
- Teaching Workshop is capped at a maximum of 50 participants
- Practical Workshop is capped at a maximum of 40 participants
- The practical workshop is not suitable for individuals with any forms of chemical allergy
3.Dress code:
Teaching workshop: Smart Casual
Practical workshop:
- Covered shoes
- Long pants
- No sleeveless top
- Long hair should be tied properly
4. The programme and venue
09.30 – 13.00: Practical workshop (venue: S5-01 General Chemistry Laboratory)
13.00 – 14.30: Lunch (venue: S8-03 Executive Classroom)
14.30 – 17.00: Teaching workshop (venue: S16-03-06 Active Learning Room)
5. Registration
- Registration fee: Free of charge (this workshop is fully supported by the Ang Kok Peng Memorial Fund).
- Registration deadline is 30 April 2023 (Sat) OR when the registration is full (whichever is earlier).
- First come, first served basis
- A meal coupon valid at the Frontier Science Canteen will be provided.
