In conjunction with the Department of Chemistry’s 88th anniversary celebration in 2017, several NUS Chemistry alumni championed by Dr Chong Yoke Sin, established the Huang Hsing Hua Chemistry Merit Scholarship Fund in honour of the late Emeritus Professor Huang who passed away peacefully on 1 July 2021. The Fund supports undergraduate freshman and Singapore citizen at the Faculty of Science majoring in Chemistry with Huang Hsing Hua Chemistry Merit Scholarship. The awardee selection is based on merit, with the same terms and conditions as other Faculty of Science’s merit scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded in full term, which supports the student with tuition fee and a yearly allowance of S$6000.
