Research Experience
Wendy has an extensive research experience covering polymer chemistry, pharmacokinetics, chemical biology, food science, and catalysis. Her PhD thesis was on the development of organo- and metal-catalyzed reactions using water as the solvent, for which she initiated an international collaboration between the Zhong group in the Nanyang Technological University and the Lipshutz group at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her contributions as a member of the latter research group led to recognition in the form of the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award by the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Work Experience
Wendy is currently an IP Business Partner at ResMed, a global leader in digital health and cloud-connected medical devices. ResMed designs innovative solutions to treat and keep people having sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or other chronic diseases out of the hospital, thereby empowering them to live healthier, higher-quality lives.
Select IP-related Experience
- Organize patent mining workshops, IP training workshops and global Hackathons to actively seek out patentable inventions
- Provide IP education and IP-related competitor intelligence
- Advise clients on their patent filing strategy, drafted patent specifications and assisted in worldwide prosecution of patent applications
