X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)

XPS provides a non-destructive qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements present on a sample surface, as well as the chemical state or local environment of each element. This is achieved through determining the binding energy of photoelectrons emitted from the sample upon X-ray irradiation.
