The 40th IChO was held in Budapest, Hungary from 12 to 21 July 2008. Four students representing Singapore received one Gold, one Silver and two Bronze medals in a field of 255 student participants from 71 countries. In terms of medals won, Singapore was placed 12th out of 71 countries.
