Visiting Studentship Programme at NUS Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting qualified senior undergraduates from reputable universities to apply for the Visiting Studentship Programme.

The Visiting Studentship Programme (VSP) at NUS Chemistry offers a unique opportunity for the selected international students to immerse themselves in the vibrant academic community at NUS. The immersion will provide participants with a first-hand experience of the academic and research environment at NUS Chemistry, as well as networking opportunity to explore potential avenues for future research and academic pursuits. We welcome motivated and aspiring young scientists to pursue PhD studies for an enriching experience at the Chemistry Department. Programme Details and Support

The VSP will span two weeks (14 days), during which the participant will spend most of the time at the Chemistry Department. The two-week duration can be flexible, typically scheduled between the months of Feb to Nov of the year. A detailed itinerary will be worked out for each selected participant prior to arrival.

We will cover the costs of local accommodation and research support fees (if applicable) for the full duration of the programme. Participants will be responsible for their insurance, travel expenses, meals, and other personal expenses.

The application can be submitted even if the applicants are nearing the end of their undergraduate year, for the VSP to be scheduled immediately upon their graduation.
Applicants are required to prepare the following documents, fill up this online form and attach the prepared documents in one email to CHM-VSP@nus.edu.sg, with subject heading ‘VSP appln [your name]’.

A selection committee will review the applications based on academic merit, research potential, and the strength of the personal statement. Preference may be given to applicants from some countries to provide for the diversify of our graduate student community. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified, and may be invited for a virtual interview.
